Pricing questions, answered
Everything about trials, billing periods, payments, and refunds — in plain language.
How does the 14-day free trial work?
Pick Core HR or Compliance on its own and use it free for 14 days — no credit card required to start. When you're ready (even mid-trial), add your card on the Plan & Billing page: the card is saved but nothing is charged until the trial ends. Workforce and Payroll aren't part of the trial; you add them when you subscribe.
What's the difference between monthly, quarterly, and yearly billing?
Monthly is billed every month. One invoice every 3 months — you pay for 2.5 months, so 2 weeks are free versus paying monthly. One invoice every 12 months — you pay for 10 months, so 2 months are free versus paying monthly. The period free time is the only discount in the product, so the numbers stay exact at any size. You can switch your billing period anytime from Plan & Billing.
How does Compliance work with Core HR?
Compliance is a completely standalone product — 99/month flat with no per-employee fees. We don't bundle it with Core HR because everything in Compliance is already inside Core HR: contract e-signatures, the document vault, expiry tracking, the audit log, and the tax calculator all come with a Core HR subscription. Compliance Starter exists for teams that want just those tools without the full HR platform — and you can upgrade to Core HR whenever you like.
Why do Workforce and Payroll need Core HR?
Core HR is the base module — it holds your employee records, org structure, and settings that Workforce (time, scheduling) and Payroll (payroll, salary structures, benefits administration, salary advances) build on. They're add-ons by design, so they're only sold paired with Core HR.
What happens after 50 employees?
Each module's 250/month base covers up to 50 employees. Beyond that it's a flat 10/employee/month per module — the compliance module is always flat-rate with no per-employee fees. The calculator above shows your exact number.
Is there a discount for buying multiple modules?
No — and that's deliberate. Prices add up linearly with no hidden stacking, and the only markdown is the billing-period free time: quarterly adds 2 weeks free and yearly adds 2 months free, exactly. That keeps the promise simple: on yearly billing you pay for 10 months and get 12, whatever your module mix.
How do I pay?
By card, through Stripe's hosted checkout — Visa, Mastercard, and Amex. Your subscription renews automatically at the start of each billing period, and a failed payment retries automatically while your access continues. You can manage everything from Plan & Billing.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Your first paid invoice is covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee — full refund, no questions. After that, monthly plans simply don't renew when you cancel, and quarterly/yearly plans return the unused portion as account credit. See the full Refund Policy for details.
Are there setup fees or contracts?
No setup fees — implementation, data migration from spreadsheets, and training are included. There are no long-term lock-ins: monthly plans cancel anytime, and the longer periods exist purely to give you free months in exchange for the commitment.
